Optimized for low- to mid-power diode and CO₂ laser machines, the FC-2001X is ideal for home workshops, studios, classrooms, and maker spaces. It is compatible with popular laser engravers such as xTool S1, D1 Pro, F1, M1, P1 and similar models using a Φ60mm exhaust interface.
Laser engraving in home workshops or small studios produces harmful smoke and fumes from materials like wood or acrylic. The FumeClear FC-2001X compact laser fume extractor uses 3-stage HEPA H13 filtration to capture 99.97% of particles and odors at the source, providing clean, safe air for DIY projects and small-scale laser work without health risks or lingering smells.
This laser fume extractor features an advanced 3-stage filtration system with a pre-filter, HEPA filter, and enhanced carbon filter that efficiently captures laser smoke, ultrafine particles, and hazardous odors, ensuring clean air and a safer laser engraving environment.
FumeClear protects your health while you are engaged in your laser creation, ensuring that harmful fumes and unpleasant odors are efficiently removed so you can create with confidence. With cleaner air and a quieter workspace, your creativity flows freely without compromising your well-being.
Everything you need for quick setup and reliable operation is included, allowing you to start extracting fumes efficiently right out of the box.
The filters should be replaced regularly every 1–3 months, and replacement filter sets for the 2001X can be purchased separately for easy maintenance.
Unlike basic fans or DIY solutions, the FC-2001X provides sealed extraction, certified HEPA filtration, strong suction, and quiet operation—offering professional-grade laser fume control in a compact desktop form. It’s a reliable solution for anyone concerned about laser smoke safety and indoor air quality.
The size of this machine is just right, making it a perfect match for my mini laser engraver!
This fume extractor can be useful really only if you can attach the floppy hose to whatever you're trying to filter. It doesn't work great as an all-purpose fume extractor because the included hose is just a floppy tube.-I have a different fume extractor from this same company that comes with a bendable, positionable hose which makes it an all-purpose tool.-I'm not sure if this company sells an add-on positionable hose, but that would be a very worthwhile accessory.-Build quality is very good.-Comes with a bunch of extra filters which is nice.-The controls are intuitive although you do have to long-press to turn it on which is a major pet peeve.-The air exhausts out of the bottom which does mean more airflow restriction than if it went out the back or side.

I'll start with the basics. This is a very small/compact fume extractor. The included filter appears to be pretty good quality/several layers and I can detect some carbon within the cartridge. I like that it comes with several extra 'pre-filters' to catch large particles and be replaced. The unit is fairly quiet compared to other extractors I use, but this comes at a price--the unit does not create very much airflow. Besides the lower-power motor, I think the airflow is further impeded by the design--the exhaust is on the bottom of unit and the airflow is pretty restricted. I've attached a short video attempting to show the extraction performance on my standard-format UV laser. (Part of the noise in the background is my industrial chiller running.) The unit barely creates enough air movement for this very light duty engraving.I think this unit would be suitable for small format laser engravers (like the xTool F1) doing light-duty engraving and perhaps other uses like resin printing as illustrated in the listing. I would not, however, recommend it for larger format lasers especially without an enclosure, nor would I recommend it for heavy-duty engraving/cutting. That said, I would certainly use it versus having no extraction. While cheaper than more industrial/larger extractors, I think the price is somewhat steep for what it is...
SummaryIm using this extractor with the Sculpfun iCube Ultra, and the combination works extremely well. Between the iCubes built?in filtration and the FC?2001Xs suction, smoke is basically eliminated and only a small amount of fumes remain. Its a strong performer, but there are a few usability improvements that would make it even better for laser setups.PerformanceSuction is excellent. With a 3D?printed reducer to step the iCubes 80?mm exhaust down to the extractors 60?mm inlet, I was able to get a tight hose seal and great airflow. During engraving, smoke is pulled immediately, and the room stays clear. For a compact laser like the iCube Ultra, this extractor is more than capable.Noise LevelOn high, its about as loud as a vacuum definitely noticeable, but Ill take noise over poor draw any day. The three suction levels help a lot: low is quiet enough that it blends into an active room, and medium is a good balance for most jobs.Ease of UseOperation is simple with minimal controls: power, fan up, fan down. Thats all you really need. However, because I have the unit mounted above eye level, the flat buttons are hard to locate by feel. Some raised markings or tactile indicators would make a big difference.Another feature that would improve the experience is an always?on mode so it could be controlled by a remote switch or smart plug. For laser workflows, that would be extremely convenient.Pros- Strong suction, especially paired with the iCube Ultra- Clears smoke effectively with minimal lingering fumes- Simple, straightforward controls- Works well with custom adapters for different exhaust sizes- Multi?level fan control helps manage noiseCons- Loud on high (vacuum?level noise)- Buttons are flat and hard to locate when mounted high- No always?on mode for remote or smart?switch control- Requires an adapter if your laser uses a larger exhaust portFinal VerdictA powerful, reliable fume extractor that pairs extremely well with compact lasers like the iCube Ultra. It does its job very well, and with a few small usability improvements, it would be close to perfect for workshop laser setups.
As someone with limited workshop space, its small footprint was a major point, but the real surprise was the powerful suctionit captures nearly all the smoke and leaving almost no odor in the room. Now, I can work for hours in a clear, comfortable environment. The multi-stage filtration system is well-designed, with five replaceable pre-filters that help extend the life of the main filter. Highly recommended for hobbyists and small studios!"
The FumeClear FC-2001X is specifically designed for low-power (5W–10W) diode and CO2 laser engravers, making it an ideal laser fume extractor for home workshops, small studios, and hobbyist environments. Its compact size, powerful 2.2kPa suction, and 3-stage HEPA H13 + activated carbon filtration effectively remove smoke, fine particles, and odors produced during engraving and cutting on materials like wood, acrylic, leather, paper, and certain plastics.
Suitable applications include:
It is compatible with popular laser engraver brands on the market (typically 5–10W models). For higher-power lasers (>10W) or heavy industrial use, we recommend our more powerful professional models. The FC-2001X excels in desktop and enclosed setups where quiet operation, portability, and odor-free air are essential.
It depends on your usage frequency and the specific application, but typical replacement intervals are as follows:
Pre-filter: Every 1-3 months
Medium filter: Every 3-6 months
Main filter: Every 6-8 months
