Perfect for UV, epoxy and laser cutting

I searched around a lot before getting this unit but I'm glad I did I upscaled to future proof my laser cutting on my h2c and my UV printer this unit can handle the fumes from both with ease come with a handy remote so you can adjust as needed from you workstation. When using for UV ink fumes it's amazing I don't have to wear a full respirator anymore as this keep my work area safer and a lot less smelly UV fumes and epoxy fumes no longer are a problem. Also on a side note the website for ordering extra parts and such is also very user friendly so I'm happy with that as well. This unit fits under the table when not in use as well it perfect height and actually pretty quiet for an extraction device.

Purchased the FC-2004 when noticing smoke

Purchased the FC-2004 when noticing smoke and fumes not being completely removed by the fan on engraver. The FC-400 completely removes both, even doing cutting that creates lots of smoke.

Great filter system for even high-end lasers!

I have been using the FumeClear FC-2004 personally for quite a few months now. I originally purchased the unit as part of my home office redesign, where I was converting a single large room into two separate rooms. Part of the redesign included moving my Epilog Helix 60W laser from one side of the room to the other side. This was a bit challenging because in the original location I had installed direct ventilation to the outside. I did not want to continue direct ventilation in the new location, so I knew that a good air filtration system would be necessary. I'm very familiar with various laser engraving applications and I wanted something compact, economical and I wanted replacement filter media that was affordable and could be easily changed out. I needed a filtration unit with a good pre-filter system to collect the larger particles, keeping the HEPA and the carbon filters from becoming prematurely clogged. It was also important that the filter unit had the ability to vary the extraction power.

These requirements were top of mind as I began my search. I quickly ruled out the brands I was already familiar with, and did not find any economic reasons to attempt to build my own filter system. It was soon that my research led me to FumeClear. I found a few YouTube videos of various filtration options that made me believe that the FC-2004 should be my next filtration unit. I purchased the unit and was amazed at how fast the unit delivered. The unit was packaged well and included two packs of pre-filter media, which was something that I knew I would be wanting to change out whenever I felt the need. I experimented with a few connection methods to my laser using the silicone cones that were included but I ultimately designed and 3D printed my own attachment (photo included below) that worked perfectly for my laser and my filter placement choice. The connection is snug and allows no smoke or fumes to escape while traveling to the filter unit. The unit was happily in use in my home office for several months before putting it to the ultimate test.

My full-time job is in a facility where we laser engrave thousands of powder coated items per day. During our peak season we were engraving around 6,000 units each day and I decided to bring my little FC-2004 to work to help with the filtration as a supplemental fume extraction system. While the FC-2004 would certainly never work for this particular application alone, the help it provided in clearing the smoke was immediately noticed! I kept the FC-2004 at my work during the busiest two weeks, knowing that this application and volume would completely kill my filter media. To my surprise and amazement, when I brought the FC-2004 back home I immediately took out the filters fully expecting a deep clean to be necessary. As I suspected, the HEPA filter was quite clogged, but this was after filtering the smoke from well over 20,000 engraved powder coated items. When I pulled out the HEPA, the carbon filter showed a slight amount of particulate around the edges of the filter, but it seemed like it was fine. When I removed the carbon filter to access the bottom of the unit where the fan resides, I was amazed to find the unit completely clean. Absolutely spotless! At this, I decided to vacuum the top of the HEPA filter and assembled the filter pack back into the FC-2004 with a fresh pre-filter. To my amazement, the filter has continued to function quite well even with the mostly clogged original HEPA filter still in place.

I have just received my first set of replacement filters for the FC-2004 and can say that the unit functions as new. For my particular application on my 60W CO2 laser (Epilog Helix) I would not hesitate to purchase this filter again and I certainly recommend it to anyone with a similar application. I also do a lot of 3D printing in the same area as the laser engraver and I occasionally will turn on the filter system and leave the top of the laser open to collect any fumes or particulate matter that may be emitted by the 3D printers. I have a smart home PM sensor that will occasionally alert me of the air quality and I find that running the FC-2004 will quickly bring the air quality back into check. This also is the case when using isopropyl alcohol in the room. That will quickly trigger air quality alerts and the FC-2004 will remedy that as well. I don't think I could be more pleased with my purchase for my specific application, and look forward to the FC-2004 being in operation for years to come.

Perfect for my Two Lasers

I bought this after using an inline fan for two other lasers. It was getting cold out, and I upgraded one laser, so was looking for a better solution. This one was it. It's much quieter than my inline fan, and it does a fantastic job of keeping the smell out of my office area. The filters last a good long while. My Bolt runs pretty much all day everyday, and I'm only on my 3rd prefilter. The cost to replace the set of filters is reasonable, so I have a set on hand for when it's needed.

Great smoke removal

Upgraded smoke extraction to FC2004 for Ikier 48 watt laser. Now no smoke escaping into shop, as extraction capacity is higher than smoke produced, especially when cutting plywood. Previous extractor was suitable for my previous 10 watt laser. Now my eyes don't burn from smoke, and my clothes don't smell smoky when I come into the house. Fumeclear is quiet--the fan on my laser enclosure is much louder than the FC2004. Easy to install as filters in place. Just remove protective plastic and connect flexible tubing to port on enclosure or to hose end collection port.

Great investment for laser smoke removal

5 minute setup yesterday, as comes with filters installed. Connected to Ikier K pro 48 watt diode laser enclosure today. Very quiet at third fan speed operation--quieter than the extraction fan on the laser enclosure.
Great smoke removal. First project was an engrave and cut. During the cut smoke could be seen swirly toward the enclosure exhaust port, but no smoke escaping after several hours of other engraving. The engraved pieces could be removed immediately, where I had to wait several minutes for smoke to be removed by my previous smaller smoke extractor.
Highly recommended for removal of the harmful fumes and odors created during laser operation. Also very quiet so not annoying operation.

Strong Fume Extractor

This product is a high-end, strong fume extractor for a laser engraver. This product works perfectly with my laser engraver machine. Previously we relied on a fan in the ceiling to extract toxic smoke and fumes. This machine really makes a whole world of difference. We no longer wear masks or gag in our work are when we use the laser engraver to customize our jewelry items. The filter is very high quality and advanced. The suction power is high yet the noise level is very low. This is a commercial-grade fume exhauster that works great.I highly recommend this product because it is made extremely well and is a fantastic value for the money.

Love this thing

Love this thing. It does a such a better job of keeping my station fume free compared to the other versions that get marketed with the laser engravers themselves.

Great filtration system

So we bought this for our engraver system and now I am thinking of connecting my 3d printer to it. One of the simplest tools that does an amazing job. I had my doubts at first either being pricey but it has proven it's worth it

Great Product

Wow this has made such a different with my 60w laser engraving machine! I was getting terrible headaches from cutting acrylic and venting out my window. I upgraded to the Fume extractor and I can’t believe how much it works to get rid of the smell quickly.

Useless after about 3 hours

Was using it in a bedroom for my laser fumes. Worked great for about 3 hours then suction stopped. Cleaned it but still not working. Past my return window because I did not setup in time or I would return it.Update:Seller contacted me and tried to solve the issue. Discovered that it was a defective unit and refunded me. Great customer service, I've already went a different route though.

Quality control on the filter is needed

The machine itself is great, the problem is the filters for it were mixed size. A few are thin then some are thicker than the others and that being said I end up having to order more filters directly from them since they dont sell it on here. If i receive the filters from them and its still a problem. I will return and go with another brand since this is almost 800 bucks!Update!!! Customer support has been very helpful and made things right. After receiving help from them I would recommend them.

Well worth the money

I love it it works awesome best thing I've ever bought I use it on my fiber laser 30 watt.

I was impressed

I have tried a few other air filter options with my laser cutter. All of them struggled to keep up with the smoke and really didn't deal with the other particulate matter in a timely manner. I put this one in place and it provided so much suction I could see the smoke being pulled towards the pipe faster than it was produced. I could barely smell anything and the measurement of air quality in that room didn't change at all.

Works awesome!

Can’t smell anything at all. Works like a champ.

The major difference between them lies in the filter structure.

The FC-2004 features a 3-stage filter system, including a pre-filter, HEPA filter, and activated carbon filter.

The FC-350, on the other hand, uses a more advanced 5-stage filter structure with two thick activated carbon layers, giving it stronger performance in handling heavy VOCs, odors, and smoke. This makes the FC-350 more suitable for applications with stronger fumes or higher odor levels.
