Fumeclear FC-2002A laser fume extractor with independent exhaust vent for strong odor discharge, perfect for laser engraving machines

FC-2002A Fume Extractor for Laser Engraver with Exhaust Design

The FumeClear FC-2002A fume extractor effectively pulls fumes away from your work area, filters them through a 3-stage filtration system, and then either returns clean, safe air back into your workspace or vents it outside, protecting your lungs from harmful exposure. This unit supports two types of hoses: a flexible hose that can be connected directly to a laser machine, or a fixed, articulated hose that can be positioned at the source to capture fumes right where they are generated.

The FumeClear FC-2002A supports two types of duct connections, making it suitable for different applications.

Flexible Connection Options for Any Laser Setup

The FumeClear FC-2002A is designed with flexible connection options to fit different laser engraving setups. You can use the adjustable bamboo-style hose to position the extraction inlet directly at the fume source for targeted capture, or connect the expandable flexible duct hose directly to your laser machine when the duct size is compatible.

After filtration, clean air can be either released back into your workspace or routed outdoors through an exhaust hose. With multiple installation options, the FC-2002A allows you to choose the setup that best matches your workspace, equipment, and ventilation needs.

Asiga printer resin smell removal

Works great removing resin smell from printer. Arm adjusts & stays where you put it. I have not hooked up exhaust line due to location of printer but it cleans the air so well of any smell that I may not.

Great for 3D Printing, Not Quiet, but Not Unpleasant Sound

This works great for my 3d Printer printing ASA.It is in no super quiet like a home air purifier but home air purifiers don't work for this application. I measured 68dB with the fan on high, sitting about 5 feet away.Even if you aren't venting outside, you will want to add the exhaust tube because it significantly muffles the fan sound. I usually run it on level 3 because it's a more pleasant sound when the fan is running at lower RPM and it gives the fumes more dwell time in the carbon filter. You don't want super high flow for VOCs on any filter. More dwell times gives the carbon time to absorb the fumes. on level 3 I measured 65dB. That may not seem like much difference but a 3dB change in volume represents a 50% reduction in power even if the human ear perceives 10db as half as loud.Since I don't have an enclosure I try to avoid being in the room while I'm printing ASA. Some fumes will inevitably escape the filter. I generally leave it running overnight while I'm printing in my office, and the room is completely free of smells and detectable VOCs in the morning when I turn off the fan and inspect my work.

In 2023 I started burning original art work into wool hats. I am one of the first to move this form of art into the fashion community. Burning into wool will bring you back to branding days on a ranch. Currently we travel across the United States doing live burning. I needed to find a fume extractor that was quite and efficient. It needed to take care of the smoke fumes to protect everyone and also to protect other vendors merchandise. It now goes everywhere with us and allows us to burn and keep the area healthy for everyone. I love it.

Great little extractor if you are working in an enclosed space

As a hobby welder, machinist and general DIYer with limited time for my passions during the day, finding a versatile air filtration system that allows me to work in my garage at night without disturbing others was paramount. My search led me to the FumeClear FC-2002A, a fume extractor that promised to meet my specific needs. In this review, I'll share my findings based on tests conducted on the noise level, suction power/filtration, and overall ease of use.Noise Level:The FumeClear FC-2002A performed admirably in terms of noise levels. At its lowest speed, the extractor registered approximately 65 decibels, which allowed for normal conversations without the need to raise your voice. At maximum speed, the noise level reached around 85 decibels, while it is acceptable in a workshop environment you wont be able to have a conversation without next to the extractor without speaking louderSuction Power / Filtration:To test the suction power and filtration capabilities of the FumeClear FC-2002A, I pushed it to the limit by using it during welding sessions. While it's important to note that this extractor isn't specifically designed for heavy-duty welding tasks, it proved surprisingly effective in keeping my garage smoke-free during small welding jobs and prototype tack welding. The air quality meter initially showed high readings due to the intense welding, but as I continued using the extractor after welding, the readings significantly decreased. For more intensive welding tasks, a dedicated welding fume extractor will still be necessary, but the FumeClear FC-2002A can be a reliable solution if you are just tacking or prototypingWhen used during machining on a lathe, the FumeClear FC-2002A demonstrated its efficiency in capturing most, if not all, of the cutting oil smoke when positioned within 6 inches of the work. The smaller working envelope of the lathe made it easier for the extractor to capture the fumes and smoke. On a laser engraver within an enclosure the extractor performed great! Medium setting is all thats needed for engraving but I would turn it up to max if you are doing any sort of wood cutting.General Ease of Use:The FumeClear FC-2002A is quite user-friendliness, the locking casters provided smooth movement around the shop while ensuring stability during use. The sturdy gooseneck provides reliable positioning, although a slightly longer gooseneck would be beneficial, particularly when using the extractor at workbench height. The included remote control is convenient, allowing one-handed operation; however, it requires line-of-sight to the front panel as it uses infrared technology. The timing and lock button doesnt seems to do anything tho.Pros:- Impressive suction power at max speed, capable of handling machining and light MIG welding tasks.- Relatively quiet operation at low speed, enabling undisturbed work in a workshop setting.- Sturdy gooseneck ensures precise positioning of the extractor during use.- Lockable casters offer effortless mobility and stability in the workshop.- Extra filters are a bonus.Cons:- The noise level at maximum speed might be bothersome for some users.- The gooseneck could be longer, especially when used at workbench height- Kinda pricey for budget-conscious buyersIn conclusion, the FumeClear FC-2002A is a powerful and efficient fume extractor that suited my needs. While it may not replace a dedicated welding fume extractors for heavy welding tasks, it excels in capturing smoke and particles during lighter welding and machining activities. Its convenience, mobility, and filtration capabilities make it a valuable addition, albeit at a higher price point.

Fantastic Machine... Well worth the money.

I have had the FumeClear FC-2002A fume extractor for about 5 days now. I wish there were more stars for me to use. It is by far and away the best extractor for my laser. I had two others... they were expensive JUNK that I returned... but this one meets and exceeds all my needs and expectations. My shop use to fill with wood burning smoke now you cannot even tell my laser is cutting. The size is very compact and it does not weigh a ton. It is a little noisy but no more so that the fan on the laser. I have been telling everyone about the quality of the machine and how its made a difference in my shop. I had a little scare.. I have been using it for about 15 hours and it stopped. However with just a quick read of the instructions... I found it to be a blown fuse... which they included and extra.... now... who does that. I was back up and running in minutes. The extractor has great suction and throws out nice clean air. As you can tell I highly recommend this unit for anyone with a laser.

Great Suction, Good Filtration, Nice Price

The suction is incredible! It's far better than the combined suction from the built-in exhaust fan on my laser cutter or the duct fan I've been using. And the filtration works! I actually put my face against the FumeClear exhaust and took some tentative breaths while it vacuumed the wood burning soot from a 40-watt laser cutter the air was decent. Now, I still vent outside, but I think you probably could use this completely indoors if needed. I don't recommend indoor venting because there are plenty of harmful VOCs that you can't smell, but this fume extractor removed everything I could smell and had no visible exhaust. The cotton pre-filters are a must because they trap a ton of particulate dust, and I found that I can clean them for reuse with my home vacuum cleaner. But make sure to use a *good* vacuum when I used my stick vacuum on the cotton filter, suddenly my office was filled with the burnt wood smell that the FumeClear had prevented. So clearly this filter works and works well, especially for the $500 price tag I paid.

Works for a 60W laser cutter

Pretty quiet, similar to a loud white noise machine or kitchen hood on full. Using for a 60W laser cutter and seems to keep up. So pretty happy with it

Plenty of power for an open laser

FANTASTIC! I use this for a laser engraver that's open. This has plenty of power to suck the smoke and fumes right out of the air. Much better than the one that came with the laser.

Great Fit for X tool Lasers

I am using this vac on two X Tool laser machines, the S1 and a F1. The fume collector works great on both devices and is able to keep up with heavy smoke from cutting wood and leather. The filters are easy to change and blow out. The machine did a good job of warning me that the filters were clogged before I was able to realize it. Overall, this has performed great so far at a fraction of the price, would purchase again.

My fume clear works exactly as intended!

I bought the fume clear to use with my 5 w UV laser and have been nothing but satisfied. It clears a pretty good area in front of the hose. You don't have to be right above it. It will pull the smoke and fumes towards it from good distance.

Great machine

Ideal for my laser engraver.
Great suction from such a small unit, and the ability to change the pre filters without replacing the entire filtration system is a great benefit.

Strong suction, quality build

This fume extractor works great with my 30W fiber laser. It's about the size of a 13-gallon trash can and can be tucked away easily. The long adjustable suction piping is also easy to manipulate and holds its position well. The suction is strong enough at the 3rd or 4th setting to quickly suck up any metal particles that may be ablated away. After a full day of doing deep engravings, the first-stage filter had a fine coating of metal dust; thankfully, they provide a bunch of those. The larger filter section is easy to remove and replace as well. The extra outlet at the bottom is a great addition for more noxious materials that you'd want to pipe out of your workspace. I found the filters do a good job of reducing smells, but they won't go away completely. It can be slightly noisy at full blast, but I found the 3rd setting provides enough suction while also being relatively quiet. The all-metal housing is also very nice. It's not the cheapest extractor out there, but I think it's well worth the money for anyone looking for a high-quality fume extractor at a competitive price.

Good suction and filtering

Works like a charm Should have bought one years ago for soldering. With the long duct I was able to mount the blower under the work bench. The remote is a nice feature. Running it on the lowest 2 settings is plenty of suction to pull the solder smoke away.

Great for a hobbiest and professional

I have been using the Fumeclear for about a few months now, and I am very impressed with it. I am a professional hobbiest and I use this fume extractor for a variety of tasks particularly laser cutting. It has a very powerful suction, which is important for removing harmful fumes and smoke quickly and efficiently. It also has a 3-stage filtration system, which removes 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. This means that I can be confident that I am breathing clean air while I am working. It's also very quiet, which is important to me because I often work in a small workshop. The noise level is under 55dB, which is comparable to a normal conversation. The unit also comes with a variety of mounting options, so I can position it exactly where I need it.

Excellent quality extractor

The Fumeclear FC-2002A fume extractor is a well-built extractor with good suction. The listing seems to push low-noise and although I did not find it overly loud, there is noise from the large fan used to create the draw necessary to keep the fumes clear. The noise level was acceptable and somewhat expected for a device like this. We set this up at a soldering station to remove the fumes and make for a safer work area. The Fumeclear does a good job of clearing the air and I like the fact that it has an alarm to let you know if there is blockage. The device is not too heavy, but the wheels make it easier to move into place and the hose is sufficiently rigid that you can move the nozzle and it stays where you put it. I have not needed to order them yet and am not impacting the rating of this product, but I do find the replacement filters to be overpriced for this device.
