Worth it, really

Wow, this 100 watt unit BLOWS the competition away. Granted in the photos you see the 100 watt new unit and my older $85 dollar 10W unit. But the they are night and day different. I know, alot more money, but SO worth it. You will love the power of this 100W true fume extractor. Highly recommend this product. See pics, sits next to table. Hose is extra stiff, this is a quality put together product!

Works great for my engraving fumes

Small enough for my work space but work great when I have it close to my engraver. I only use half the power and it’s made a big difference. I tested the filter usage, once it got pretty dirty, I washed it and reused it over as a test. It does Come with extra filters. The hose is sturdy but flexible to stay exactly where you want it to stay. Overall this is a good product. Worth the money. Only wish I would have gotten the next bigger size as I increase my machinery.

This thing sucks!

I tempered my expectations, but this looked a little bit more suitable for electronics than the similar unit Dave from eevblog reviewed so I thought it would work in any case. From that video, I prefer this one and it's a great value. The build quality is high, size is compact for what it is, hose holds well and has two nozzles, sound level is fine, and it came with 10 prefilters (which they cleverly used as side padding in the package).I don't know how it compares to the $800+ units but I think the only major advantage of any other filter machine might be in filtration media which you could experiment with yourself on this power unit. It would be a massive leap up from those desktop fan things in any case.

Works Great To Clear Fumes

This fume extractor does a great job pulling in solder and glue fumes. The filters work well, I don't smell anything coming out the other end. The flexible tube is stiff but easily adjusted, reaching all the way from the floor to the top of the desk. The box is small enough to fit under the desk without getting in the way. The unit is fairly quiet, but it does make some white noise in the background. A pair of noise cancelling headphones will do the trick. I definitely should have invested in one of these earlier. At the very least, this system keeps the fumes out of your eyes and lungs.Edit: The motor and control board eventually failed on my first unit within about 6 months. The company Fume Clear sent me a replacement unit and we got back on track.

Great build quality and good support

This extractor is very, very well made. There is even acoustic foam lining the bottom where the fan is. It's also fairly quiet for this kind of machine! The suction is slightly less than you'd expect for its size. However, positioning the hose properly goes a long way to help pull the fumes away. When I got the position right, there was no smell in the air as I soldered. When I first started to use it, the overload alarm was going off even without the hose attachment! I contacted support and within a day, they had not only sent me instructions but a quick video on how to set the alarm threshold. For anyone else with this issue, here are the instructions they sent1. Turn[ON/OFF]2. Press[OK/SETTING] for a while3. Adjust the [FLOW-/FLOW+] FLOW-: More Easy to alarm and FLOW+:Hard to alarm4. After that, press[OK/SETTING]5. Restart the machine

Works

Packaged nicely, arrived quickly, had the filters already installed, just need to plug in the power and connect the hose and nozzle. Bending it was a bit of a pain, but that's typical of this type of hose; it just made me wish for a pair of gloves because I got pinched a bit. Didn't smell anything unless I got way too close with the fan set too low.

Price and Design can't be beat

i bought this for the wife and her business some what quiet but it work wonders, build quality is good size is amazing and can be move around. Design is easy to maintain.

Powerful and lightweight

I bought this for my laser engraver to get rid of the fumes that were sickening and didn't think it would do the job and to my surprise its small and has great suction power and there was no smell of fumes in my garage. I love the way it came with spare filters.

Should've gotten it sooner.

This little machine is a beast! All of my clients have commented on how well it works(in a salon). I should've gotten it sooner. The noise level isn't overbearing. You can still hold a conversation at a regular level. The dust and fumes are cleared within seconds.

Cut to the chase, and buy this extractor that really keeps your work space...

Regretfully wasted money on those $40 little fume extractor fans. This fume extractor is AMAZING I've always used it at the full fan speed and kept the end of the hose no more than a foot away from my work, and I've never had any fumes escape. I solder in a bedroom so keeping the fumes contained is a 100% must, and this baby does that very well. A worth while investment, skip wasting money on the cheap ones that don't work, get this!

Excellent for portable work, but not enough for permanent workstation.

It is small and very light weight. I can fit this unit AND the tube into a Dewalt 18 inch rolling tool storage bag (DWST560107) and still have room for a small soldering station and all the extra tools/materials that I need for working at a remote location. If you need a permanent desktop fume extractor the FC-100A is a much better choice......
