I ordered this to use for desktop soldering. My previous employer had a much more expensive version of this product and I'll use that as a reference: the power is on par with the more expensive unit, the noise level is higher, it is smaller and more portable, the flexible pipe is more rigid and easier for fine adjustment, the fume extractor attachment seems to be high temperature silicone which is more flexible and less likely to burn.Considering this unit costs around 4 times less, I think it deserves 5 stars even though it is louder.

Let's see, the size and power are about 'medium' for the extractors I have tried. It's large enough to actually create some airflow without being problematic to find space for. The quality of the build seems quite good. The unit comes with a 'substantial' carbon filter cartridge and lots of spare 'pre-filters.' The noise level (on high) is 'loud' but that comes with the territory if you want real extraction. From there, you can dial back speed for lighter duty work which is nice. I rate the size/power near perfect for the type of stuff I do with my enclosed UV laser. I have a small one that's not really powerful enough and a larger one that's obnoxiously loud. Note that I don't do really heavy duty cutting/engraving. If I had a fiber laser and was deep engraving/cutting, I would still probably look for something with more power...The remote is quite handy when you need to tuck the unit where you can't reach it easily...The one thing I really don't care for with this unit (and others) is the segmented plastic hose they come with. They're kind of difficult to snake around where you want and I believe restrict the airflow. My next upgrade will be a different hose.I think the value is pretty good. Similar units specifically for lasers can easily cost twice as much.

This extractor is nice and quiet on low settings for soldering but powerful enough to pull the large amounts of smoke generated by a diode laser on wood. The remote option is nice. The only thing it's missing is a Y piece to hit multiple locations.

This is a MUST HAVE for all acrylic nail techs! I have been breathing in those monomer fumes for far too long. This machine is whisper quiet and ya'll... OMG it literally eats the fumes. It's at least an 85% reduction in fumes. It even pulls the dust particles up and away. The hose is absolutely incredible as well. It's super flexible and it's plenty long enough to sit the unit on the floor and it reaches easily to the manicure table.

This was recommended to me by a vendor we purchase supplies on and it does not disappoint. We use for dtf transfer air purification and it’s made a world of difference. Would definitely recommend

Wow, this 100 watt unit BLOWS the competition away. Granted in the photos you see the 100 watt new unit and my older $85 dollar 10W unit. But the they are night and day different. I know, alot more money, but SO worth it. You will love the power of this 100W true fume extractor. Highly recommend this product. See pics, sits next to table. Small enough for my work space but work great when I have it close to my engraver. I only use half the power and it’s made a big difference. I tested the filter usage, once it got pretty dirty, I washed it and reused it over as a test. It does Come with extra filters. The hose is sturdy but flexible to stay exactly where you want it to stay. Overall this is a good product. Worth the money. Only wish I would have gotten the next bigger size as I increase my machinery. .

Like the size, not super nosy, works really well with acrylic nail fumes.

I tempered my expectations, but this looked a little bit more suitable for electronics than the similar unit Dave from eevblog reviewed so I thought it would work in any case. From that video, I prefer this one and it's a great value. The build quality is high, size is compact for what it is, hose holds well and has two nozzles, sound level is fine, and it came with 10 prefilters (which they cleverly used as side padding in the package).I don't know how it compares to the $800+ units but I think the only major advantage of any other filter machine might be in filtration media which you could experiment with yourself on this power unit. It would be a massive leap up from those desktop fan things in any case.

This extractor is very, very well made. There is even acoustic foam lining the bottom where the fan is. It's also fairly quiet for this kind of machine! The suction is slightly less than you'd expect for its size. However, positioning the hose properly goes a long way to help pull the fumes away. When I got the position right, there was no smell in the air as I soldered. When I first started to use it, the overload alarm was going off even without the hose attachment! I contacted support and within a day, they had not only sent me instructions but a quick video on how to set the alarm threshold. For anyone else with this issue, here are the instructions they sent1. Turn[ON/OFF]2. Press[OK/SETTING] for a while3. Adjust the [FLOW-/FLOW+] FLOW-: More Easy to alarm and FLOW+:Hard to alarm4. After that, press[OK/SETTING]5. Restart the machine

This fume extractor does a great job pulling in solder and glue fumes. The filters work well, I don't smell anything coming out the other end. The flexible tube is stiff but easily adjusted, reaching all the way from the floor to the top of the desk. The box is small enough to fit under the desk without getting in the way. The unit is fairly quiet, but it does make some white noise in the background. A pair of noise cancelling headphones will do the trick. I definitely should have invested in one of these earlier. At the very least, this system keeps the fumes out of your eyes and lungs.Edit: The motor and control board eventually failed on my first unit within about 6 months. The company Fume Clear sent me a replacement unit and we got back on track.

Really well built product. I'm super happy with the speed of delivery and how robust the system seems to be. Decent seal with no leakage and a powerful suction.

Be mindful of the bamboo tubing though. I've nipped my hand a few times now trying to manoeuvre it into place as I've been working.

Bought for my bench space, saw a review on you tube and thought it was about time I did something to reduce my exposure to soldering fumes. Used for just a week now, all great so far. Eventually I will build it under the bench so the remote control will come in handy for that.

I own a salon and we do keratin/brazilian blowouts. We all know those can be toxic once heated. My husband urged me to purchase something so evacuate the fumes during those appointments. This has been a godsend for us! No burning eyes, no weird feelings in the throat. So thankful for this machine!

We purchased this fume extractor for our small hot cutter, which was emitting fumes from burning nylon and polyester and bothering our sewing team. Since receiving and using our FC-100A, we have not had any fumes or smells. It's simple enough to use that it's an easy step to take before using the hot cutter. I am considering purchasing a larger one to back up our laser cutter.

Excellent quality fume extractor! I recently purchase a laser engraver, and about smokes us all out of the shop trying to make a cutting board. This works great to get the smoke and fumes out and allows us to all keep working while the laser is going. The noise isnt too bad, and we're all still able to function and work with it on. It works really well for our small laser!

This 100W extractor pulls smoke and odors away from my laser engraver with impressive power. It's also fairly quiet for its suction power. The 3 stage filtration system effectively captures particles, making the air in my workshop much cleaner. I like the remote control panel for easy speed adjustments while I work. The unit is compact enough for a desktop but sturdy enough for heavy soldering tasks. At 319 bucks, the performance justifies the cost for personal safety. The digital display provides clear feedback on the current settings and status. This extractor efficiently removes harmful fumes and keeps my workspace breathable during long projects.

This thing is WAY higher quality than I was expecting.

I got this fume extractor to get rid of toxic smoke while soldering and it works great for that purpose.PROS-Excellent, solid build quality. The metal box with fan is very solidly built.-The hose works well to posiition it where you want. Due to the weight of the hose, there can be slight gravity drooping if you extend it out too far though. So I would not expect to use the full length of the hose.-Suction quality is excellent. It is able to capture all the smoke as long as the hose is within 2-4 inches of the solder.-The remote control works well and gives another options for control.-Controls are intuitive. I really only use the on/off function though.-Comes with a bunch of extra filters.-Sound level is not too loud. You don't need to use ear protection unless you are using it for prolonged periods.CONS-There is no integrated spot to store the remote which means the tiny remote can easily get lost. I recommend getting adhesive velcro tape so you can stick the remote onto the top of the metal fumer.

I was nervous to get this because of the price but it was worth every dollar. I am a licensed nail tech and do nails from home so i really needed a way to make sure the whole building didnt smell like monomer. And this absolutely did the job beautifully. I did pair it with an air purifier but would buy this again without hesitation
